Peter Dommeck, lid van RBC de Jack uit Renkum, ook wel eens een wedstrijd speelt met leden van de Daventry Indoor Bowls Club in Engeland?
Zo ook van 16 t/m 18 september, een fours toernooi bij Potters Leisure Club.

En, hij heeft dat toernooi met zijn team gewonnen.

Hieronder hoe hij bij die vereniging terecht is gekomen en zijn verslagje over dat toernooi.

My name is Peter. I am part of a team from Daventry Indoor Bowls Club who participates at Potters Leisure Resort every year (Eveline, Iris, and Brian). I always say I am a Dutch Kiwi. Born in New Zealand with Dutch parents. Living now in the Netherlands for many years. In 2014 during a family holiday, I got in contact with the sport Indoor Bowls at Potters together with my wife. We found out that we could play the sport in Holland and straight away became a member of a club. I enjoy the sport a lot and play day tournaments every month. My team members from Daventry played against me in 2022 just after the COVID epidemic. And we became friends. I look forward to my stay at Potters not only because of the tournament but also the great contact I have with my team members but also all the other contestants, especially those coming from Daventry.

This year we didn’t play our best. But by hanging on and trusting one and other we made it to the final. A great final. Two teams who were equal played an amazing final. “Final End” with a score of 4 each we wished all the players good luck. After a beautiful last bowl from Iris, we managed to bring the win home. We were all so happy! I hope to be able to play a tournament in Daventry in the future because I would love to see and play in England. Have fun with the Bowls sport.

Voorrondes van 4 wedstrijden van 1,5 uur (3 gewonnen, 1 verloren). Als laatste doorgegaan naar de finales.
Kwartfinales, halve finales en finalewedstrijden van 8 ends met een maximale speeltijd van 1 uur.
Kwartfinale tegen The Flying Kites, uitslag 7-6
Halve finale tegen The Jacks, uitslag 6-4
Finale tegen The Jacks, uitslag 5-4.
